Today, Judge Haywood S. Gilliam of the United States District Court in and for the Northern District of California granted motions to dismiss by three groups of defendants that together result in a complete dismissal of a RICO action brought against the man featured in Dave Eggers’ recent bestseller The Monk of Mokha and numerous parties alleged to have conspired with him. The dismissal was entered without prejudice.
WVBR, led by Frank Busch, represents two defendant entities alleged to have conspired to violate RICO, including one located in the United Arab Emirates that prevailed on both its challenge to the pleadings and its challenge to personal jurisdiction.
